OceanX Group Showcased our work to Presentation Around the World (PATW) with the IET
Melbourne VIC.– A billion drones deployed by 2030, announced the US futurist Thomas Frey. Can we use these autonomous platforms to monitor pollution in our Oceans? This talk was presented at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) for the PATW Victorian session.
In the literature, the most advanced Engineering Feasibility study lead by Boyan Slat highlights that Drone Technology is not a viable solution to collect garbage in the middle of the Ocean. However, this Engineering report does not address the issue of coastal littering.
