OceanX Group Supporting Councils to Plan for Emergency Disasters

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

01, August 2018 –

OceanX Group presenting at ANZ Disaster & Emergency Management Forum

Melbourne VIC.– Today the OceanX Group™ announced it will participate in the 2nd ANZ Disaster and Emergency Management Forum to highlight the latest technology innovations in disaster risk reduction, humanitarian relief, and crisis response. The presentation will focus on saving lives with advances in multihazard early warning for geophysical disaster.

“It is critical to incorporate the latest technology into preventing and responding to disasters. Learning the new developments and techniques can be critical in saving lives”, said Vic Grosjean, Principal Consultant for OceanX Group.

The event runs from August 6th through 8th and will feature speakers from around the world giving their expertise in disaster and emergency management.

Disasters such as Black Saturday, Cyclone Larry, and Cyclone Debbie unleashed their destructive power swiftly and unexpectedly and urge us to institutionalize a post-natural disaster resilience.

To build a resilient ANZ requires a paradigm shift from a response-recovery governance to a risk-sensitive development approach and a stronger attempt in regional cooperation for managing trans-boundary disasters.
